Record number of new Partners

PwC Ireland is delighted to announce the admission of fifteen new Partners, a record number for the firm.

The new partners are Áine Brassill (Advisory), Danielle Cunniffe (Tax), Ciarán Cunningham (Assurance), Darrelle Dolan (Assurance), John Dwyer (Advisory), Marie-Louise Gallagher (Assurance), Mairead Harbron (Tax), Kieran Little (Advisory), Aidan Lucey (Tax), Paul Martin (Assurance), Seán Martin (Advisory), Leonard McAuliffe (Advisory), Ally McCaffrey (Tax), James McMenamin (Advisory) and Thomas Sheerin (Tax).

PwC Ireland also announced in March 2022 that Robert Costello joined the firm as a Partner to lead its Capital Projects and Infrastructure team.

The new Partners have been appointed across a diverse range of business areas and reflect further investment in the firm's growth and market ambition.

About the new PwC Partners

Áine Brassill becomes a Partner in the firm's Advisory practice, leading the firm's Operational Effectiveness Consulting team. With over 20 years of industry and consulting experience, she has strong expertise in banking, operating model transformation, cost reduction, process improvement, automation and digital transformation. Áine works with clients across a range of industries, including financial services, public sector, telecommunications, retail, pharma and utilities. Áine is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Queen's University Belfast.

Danielle Cunniffe becomes a Tax Partner, leading the firm's Tax Risk and Controversy practice and advising clients on tax appeals and disputes across all sectors. Danielle has over 23 years of experience working in tax, assisting clients in preventing, managing and resolving a wide range of domestic and international tax issues and disputes. Danielle is a member of PwC's Global Tax Controversy and Dispute Resolution Network, a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute and a qualified barrister. She formerly worked in Revenue's Large Cases Division for over eight years.

Ciarán Cunningham becomes a Partner in the firm's Assurance Financial Services Risk and Regulation practice. Ciarán has over 20 years of experience in Financial Services, specialising in advising and supporting clients in risk management and regulatory interpretation and change. Ciarán also has 11 years of experience working in senior roles within the Irish banking sector. Ciarán is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Darrelle Dolan becomes a Partner in the firm's Assurance Asset and Wealth Management practice in Cork, providing audit and related services to Irish and international clients. She has 20 years of experience working with and advising asset managers and fund service providers. Darrelle worked in PwC New York and currently works across a broad base of mutual fund and private equity clients, special purpose vehicles and traditional and alternative funds. Darrelle is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

John Dwyer becomes an Advisory Partner in the firm's Financial Services Consulting practice. John has over 20 years of experience in consulting across a wide range of banking clients both in Ireland and the UK. In particular, he specialises in advising and supporting clients in large-scale complex change management programmes. He has extensive expertise in banking operations, project delivery and managed change with Irish and international banking clients. John graduated from University College Dublin's Smurfit Business School with a Masters in Business Studies (MBS) in Management Consulting.

Marie-Louise Gallagher becomes a Partner in the firm's Assurance practice. She has over 18 years of experience providing assurance services to domestic and multinational businesses across multiple sectors. Marie-Louise has extensive reporting expertise under multiple accounting frameworks, including IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP. She services a wide range of industries including manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail, consumer and technology. Marie-Louise is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a member of the Irish Tax Institute.

Mairead Harbron becomes a Tax Partner in the firm's Private Client Services practice. Mairead has 15 years of experience advising Irish and international high-net-worth individuals, owner-managed businesses, law firms and partnerships in relation to personal tax matters, succession planning, management incentivisation, structuring ownership of investments and property transactions. She has international private client experience, having spent a year on secondment in PwC Melbourne. Mairead is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute.

Kieran Little becomes an Advisory Partner in the firm's Strategy Consulting practice. Kieran assists clients in the data-led development of corporate strategy and both buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence as part of merger and acquisition processes. Kieran has worked with large domestic and international organisations on large-scale engagements across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He leads sector-specialist teams covering various industries, including financial services, healthcare, retail, industrials and technology.

Aidan Lucey becomes a Tax Partner in PwC's Tax Risk and Controversy practice, leading the firm's tax risk and Revenue interventions offering with more than 15 years of experience. Aidan also works with organisations to proactively manage their tax risk through the development and ongoing testing of their tax governance and control framework. Aidan sits on Revenue's Tax Administration Liaison Committee Audit Sub-Committee, where he engages with Revenue on audit and compliance policy matters. Aidan is an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute.

Paul Martin becomes a Partner in the firm's Assurance practice. He has 15 years of experience providing assurance and regulatory advisory services to clients across the Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) industry. Paul currently works across a broad range of alternatives and traditional funds and has extensive reporting experience under multiple accounting frameworks, including IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP. Paul is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Seán Martin becomes an Advisory Partner in the firm's Deals practice. With over 15 years of experience, Seán specialises in providing merger and acquisition and valuation advisory services, and has represented many of Ireland's largest plc and private companies on an international scale. His experience includes advising clients on acquisitions, disposals and fundraisings as well as other capital market transactions. Seán is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Leonard McAuliffe becomes a Partner in Advisory Consulting, where he manages Cybersecurity, Privacy and Forensic services. He is a leader in cybersecurity, with 20 years of experience working with global multinationals and large Irish organisations on complex cyber projects to protect their businesses. Leonard has served on the boards of all major cybersecurity organisations in Ireland including the Irish Information Security Forum, Information Systems Security Association and Open Web Application Security Project. Leonard is a frequent contributor to national and international media.

Ally McCaffrey becomes a Tax Partner in the firm's Transfer Pricing (TP) practice. With 14 years of experience, including time spent in PwC Chicago, Ally advises multinational companies predominantly in the technology and pharmaceutical life science sectors primarily on international TP structuring opportunities, managing TP controversy and domestic and international TP compliance requirements. Ally has also been involved in developing various technological analytical tools to help clients gain better insights from their data. Ally is an associate of the Irish Tax Institute.

James McMenamin becomes an Advisory Partner in the firm's Corporate Finance practice. He brings nearly 15 years of experience advising on merger and acquisition transactions across a wide range of sectors including pharma, banking, construction, insurance, agribusiness, retail and energy. James works closely with plcs, multinationals, SMEs and the public sector at critical times in their business lifecycle as they sell their business or seek to identify and execute transformational acquisitions. James is part of the PwC Global Corporate Finance Network and a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Thomas Sheerin becomes a Tax Partner in the firm's Foreign Direct Investment practice. Thomas has 18 years of experience working with US multinational companies, predominantly in the technology sector. He works with clients on all aspects of their business, including mergers and acquisitions, financing, internal reorganisations, tax governance and reporting. Thomas is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute.
