Welcome to the Q3 2023 edition of PwC’s Insurance bulletin. This provides an update on the main regulatory developments for the insurance industry at both a domestic and European level between June and September 2023.
It was a reasonably busy quarter. At a European level, EIOPA published a consultation on the supervision of “third-country” reinsurance and also released their 2023 to 2026 strategy - with the former generating some commentary and interest across the sector.
Locally, there were some notable developments including an update from CBI on its ongoing review of Consumer Protection Code as well as the publication of the findings of a review completed on firms’ ORSAs during 2022.
