PwC Financial Crime update - Q3 2023

03 October, 2023

This issue of the PwC Financial Crime quarterly update outlines the latest news and regulatory updates across the world of financial crime.

This was a particularly busy quarter for European updates, with a number of detailed reports published by the European Banking Authority (EBA). In July the EBA published their opinion on money laundering / terrorist financing risks facing the EU’s financial sector, as well as findings from their review of Competent Authorities’ approaches to tackling money laundering and terrorist financing risks in the banking sector. This was followed in August by a report on the functioning of AML/CFT colleges.

As always, the regulatory landscape is ever-changing and adapting to new financial crime threats. Read our newsletter to understand these developments and how they might affect your organisation.
