Meet Shreya

In my role within PwC’s Data Analytics practice, I’ve had the opportunity to dive into an array of analytics projects spanning finance, banking, insurance and pharmaceuticals, to name a few. As the world increasingly leans towards data analytics and evidence-based decision-making, we focus on reporting and visualisation, enhancing data integrations using transformation tools like Alteryx and Python, improving data quality and designing and implementing data strategies.

Before joining PwC, I majored in biotechnology at the University of Delhi. After graduating, I became a business technology associate at ZS Associates, a boutique consulting firm headquartered in Princeton. This role was my gateway into data analytics.

I also worked with other global professional services firms, but my decision to join PwC was driven by my desire to move beyond the US. When I saw an opportunity in PwC Ireland’s data analytics practice, it seemed like the perfect fit and I applied directly through LinkedIn.

I joined PwC as a manager in the Data Analytics practice within the Advisory line of service just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Starting a new role during such an uncertain time was challenging. However, my team helped me feel at home with regular video meetings and virtual coffee catch-ups.

PwC is incredibly supportive and flexible, giving me the space I need to grow in my role. Today, I am a Senior Manager with more responsibilities and opportunities ahead. The firm provides many opportunities for learning and growth. Since joining, I’ve completed my Microsoft Azure certification and have had access to a wealth of technical and non-technical courses. I’ve also attended ‘lunch and learn’ sessions on everything from user experience to artificial intelligence.

PwC’s culture is a reflection of its people. You’re working with a community of people that are focused on the common goal of serving our clients, delivering timely insights and valuable guidance.

How we work is unique, though. The firm’s ‘everyday flexibility’ policy has allowed me to visit my family in a different country at least once a year without impacting my work. It’s also allowed me to travel around Europe, work from home and meet with my colleagues in the office based on my schedule. For me, that’s the best part about working at PwC – the people and the culture. I not only work alongside brilliant minds, I am also building valuable professional and personal relationships.

If someone I know was considering joining PwC, I would tell them that PwC is a fantastic firm that lives its core values and that its people are its greatest assets. If you relate to these values, there’s no better place to work.

“PwC is incredibly supportive and flexible, giving me the space I need to grow in my role. Today, I am a Senior Manager with more responsibilities and opportunities ahead."
